- Navigation tools to avoid unnecessary detours and traffic jams.

4. Preparing your car and its equipment
To avoid unpleasant surprises and unscheduled visits to the garage, you need to do a quick inspection of your car before you set off:

- Oil and fluids: Check the levels of all fluids and make sure your car isn’t due for an oil change any time soon.
- First-aid kit and emergency kit: Gather all the items you might need for any unforeseen circumstances on the road, including a first-aid kit, blankets, tools, water bottles, non-perishable food, a flashlight, etc.
- Loading luggage: Be sure to place your luggage in the trunk of your car so that it doesn’t obstruct the driver’s field of vision. Also, avoid loading the passenger compartment with bags or other loose items that could become dangerous projectiles if there’s an accident or sudden stop.
- Accessories: If you have a cargo carrier, bike rack, or trailer, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use, as well as the loading capacity of the unit and your car.
5. The right car insurance for peace of mind
